About this opportunity

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to TTP Labtech for an Arktic 800C Main Assy. This equipment is needed because it is the fastest available and does not use robotics when handling samples, allowing for scalable tandem setups. Interested parties may submit proposals by August 21, 2020 to identify their capability to meet the requirement. The contracting officer will determine whether competition is warranted based on responses received by the deadline.

There is no set-aside designated for this procurement. As the equipment needed is an Arktic 800C Main Assy, the primary NAICS and PSC codes would relate to laboratory equipment. The current incumbent is TTP Labtech as sole source award is intended for this equipment, though responses will be considered to determine if competition is merited. No award value or quantity is specified, but the requirement is for the fastest available sample handling equipment to enable scalable setups.

Notice text

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to TTP Labtech for a Arktic 800C Main Assy.  The CDC will purchase the Arktic from Labtech because it is the fastest main assy type of equipment available.  Also, the Arktic does not use robotics mechanics while handling the samples which allows for tandem series setups making the Arktic scalable.  This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
