About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration, specifically the Togus Healthcare System, has issued a Special Notice announcing its intent to sole source a contract for servicing the Epredia Revos Tissue Processor currently installed at their facility in Togus, Maine. The contract is structured as a firm-fixed-price agreement with one base year and four subsequent option years. The procurement will be executed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, which allows for awarding to only one source when no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The notice was published on January 21, 2025, with a response deadline of January 24, 2025, at 11:00 am EST. The contract will cover comprehensive support for the tissue processor, including replacement parts, labor, travel expenses, and scheduled preventive maintenance.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to provide a sole-source service agreement for maintaining the specialized Epredia Revos Tissue Processor. Contractors interested in being considered must submit detailed documentation to kim.mccarthy@va.gov by the specified deadline, demonstrating their qualifications and ability to meet the VA's requirements. The government will use the submitted information solely to conduct market research and determine whether to proceed with an unrestricted open market procurement. While the notice emphasizes this is not a competitive proposal solicitation, it allows alternative sources to present their capabilities. The contract's line items include a base year and four option years of premier support, each covering comprehensive maintenance services such as replacement parts, unscheduled service visits, annual preventive maintenance, and all associated shipping charges. Potential contractors should note that the final determination of competition remains entirely at the government's discretion.
