The Birmingham VA Medical Center requires Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance transportation and all-inclusive medical services to include medical equipment necessary for the transportation of qualified Veterans of the Birmingham VA Medical Center, the Birmingham VA clinic, and its Community Based Outpatient Clinics in the state of Alabama. This requirement DOES NOT include services needed for an Emergency Response, service to a 911 call, and/or equivalent needed service. The required period of performance is 1 January 2017 through 30 June 2017, with one six month option period.
Ambulance services shall be provided twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week, three hundred and sixty-five (365) days a year, including government holidays. Service will include, but not limited to, transportation for beneficiaries located in our catchment area of the state of Alabama, but also, may include infrequent transports out of the state of Alabama. Ambulance transportation services shall be furnished on an "as needed" basis. The contractor shall provide all manpower, equipment, materials, supplies, vehicles, fuel, and supervision necessary to perform all tasks.
