About this opportunity
The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences within the Department of Health and Human Services National Institutes of Health National Institute on Drug Abuse intends to procure induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neuronal and endothelial cells from Fujifilm Cellular Dynamics, Inc. on a non-competitive basis. The Stem Cell Translations Laboratory requires these cells to maintain consistent data for ongoing biofabrication of 3D tissue models. Responses were due by February 11, 2022 with award anticipated by February 16, 2022. Evaluation will be based on technical acceptability of maintaining the incumbent vendor's cell lines.
There is no set-aside designation. Fujifilm Cellular Dynamics, Inc. is identified as the incumbent contractor able to provide the induced pluripotent stem cell-derived differentiated cells under NAICS 325414 and PSC R499. The purchase order will provide for shipments of neuronal and endothelial cell products totaling approximately $250,000 to the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences in four deliveries between February and April 2022 to locations in Maryland and North Carolina. Invoicing will be conducted electronically per the instructions in Attachment 6.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Office of Acquisition (OA), on behalf of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), intends to negotiate and award a purchase order without providing for full and open competition (including brand-name) to Fujifilm Cellular Dynamics, Inc., 465 Science Drive, Madison, Wisconsin 53711-1074for induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell-derived differentiated cells. NCATS has been using this vendor’s neuronal cells and endothelial cells for the biofabrication of 3D tissue models and it is critical to continue using this vendor’s cells to keep uniform data going forward and avoid variables that could skew results.
The Stem Cell Translations Laboratory (SCTL) within the Division of PreClinical Innovation (DPI) of the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) seeks to purchase Induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell-derived differentiated cells.
