The primary work for this project is to fabricate and install trolley and fish release pipes to facilitate biological testing of the new turbine runners currently being installed. The Trolley pipes will be installed along the pier between each turbine unit across the tailrace deck and also on the south wall near the auxiliary water supply pumps. The trolley and fish release pipes will be anchored to the wall and extend down approximately 50 to 70 feet from the deck. Trolley pipes will be approximately 4 inch diameter. Fish release pipes will be approximately 6 inches in diameter. All of the pipes will extend down below the surface of the river and will require divers to install. This work also includes modifications to the south wall piers access guard rails and design and installation of fall protection for the trolley and fish release pipes to be installed on the piers for auxiliary water supply pumps.
