About this opportunity
This Sources Sought Notice from the Naval Research Laboratory seeks potential sources for a high resolution x-ray diffraction imaging system to characterize defects in various materials. Key requirements for the system include an x-ray source capable of automatically switching between Cu and Mo radiation, a goniometer that can perform reflection and transmission measurements on samples up to 200mm in diameter, multilayer mirrors and monochromators for Cu and Mo radiation, and high resolution imaging detectors with pixel resolutions of 5.5 microns or better and 2.2 microns or better capable of scanning full wafers. Interested sources must respond by February 26, 2020 with capability statements not exceeding five pages demonstrating how their technical capabilities meet these specifications, as well as details on commerciality and availability on GSA schedules. Evaluation will consider best value and technical acceptability on a go/no-go basis.
There is no set-aside designation. The main NAICS code is 334516 and PSC code is J063. Responses are sought to gauge industry interest and determine commercial availability in the planning stage of this procurement for a high resolution x-ray diffraction imaging and nano-structural analysis system. No incumbent or budget details are provided.
