This is a notice of intent to sole source. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 2900 Woodcock Blvd, MS TCU-4, Atlanta, GA 30341-4004 intends to sole source; in accordance with FAR Part 13.501(a)(1)(ii). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has the intent to award a sole source firm fixed price service
contract to Cepheid.
The North American Industry Classification System code is 811219. The purpose of this procurement is to acquire service and/or repairs to the GeneXpert GX4-4 and GX-16-16 instruments, including software updates, for the stated time period. Calibration cartridges are included in the annual service agreement and allows each module to be verified as functioning properly annually.
Cepheid manufactures the GeneXpert GX4-4 and X-16-16 instruments and provides the service agreement contracts. This contract will cover any service or repairs to the instruments and includes software updates for the stated time period and will be billed monthly in arears. Calibration cartridges are included in the annual service agreement and allows each module to be verified as functioning properly annually. GeneXpert instruments are used to validate performance evaluation panels for the Xpert MTB/RIF Performance Evaluation Program (XMPEP) the International Laboratory Branch (ILB) sponsors and manages that supports 843 GeneXpert testing sites in 23 countries. The XMPEP is currently preparing to seek ISO 17043 accreditation to become an accredited proficiency test provider and equipment calibration is a requirement for ISO 17043 accreditation. Our laboratory needs to have fully functioning equipment to maintain accreditation and support testing in the countries we support.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contract Specialist on or before 5:00 PM EST on July 25, 2019. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All vendors/prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to an award of a federal contract.
