About this opportunity
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute intends to award a non-competitive contract to procure a fluorescence activated cell sorting system. The system must be capable of analyzing up to 30 parameters plus forward and side scatter using five lasers, accommodate high-dimensional single cell analysis and sorting of human cells, and be delivered within 90-120 days of award. This purchase will support research across five areas at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, including elucidating molecular mechanisms in basic research and clinical studies. The deadline for questions is July 1, 2020.
There is no set-aside designation for this procurement. The fluorescence activated cell sorting system must be a FACSymphony S6 High Parameter SORP cell sorter or equivalent benchtop system from Becton, Dickinson and Company. The purpose of the cell sorting system is to support ongoing research, with delivery required within 90-120 days of award.
Notice text
Research in the NIDCR Intramural Research Program revolves around five main research areas: Craniofacial Developmental, Cell and Matrix Biology; Epithelial and Salivary Gland Biology and Dysfunction; Immunology and Inflammation; Sensory Biology; and Skeletal Biology. Within these research areas, our scientists are tasked with elucidating the molecular mechanisms that underlie a plethora of biological processes as they relate to both basic research and disease manifestations in a clinical setting.
The Combined Technical Research Core (CTRC) provides essential Flow Cytometry analysis and Florescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) services to the entire NIDCR/DIR and its collaborators. The laboratory requires a high dimensional FACS system for single cell isolation.
