About this opportunity
The Department of the Interior National Park Service Pacific West Region is seeking a contractor to provide a feral burro gather and removal operation in the Mojave National Preserve. The contractor will be required to use a helicopter to push the burros into existing or temporary traps/corrals where ground-based wrangler crews will herd them for capture. The captured burros will then be turned over to a non-governmental organization for removal from the Preserve. Evaluation criteria for this firm fixed price contract will include the contractor's technical approach, prior experience, key personnel experience, and past performance, in addition to price. Quotes must be submitted by September 16, 2024.
This is a 100% small business set-aside contract under NAICS code 115210 - Support Activities for Animal Production. The exact number of feral burros is unknown but estimated to be 100-200. The work must be completed within one year of the award date and will require adherence to wilderness laws, as much of the area is designated wilderness. The place of performance is the Mojave National Preserve in California.
