Deployable Communications and Broadcast Transit Case Solution
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THERE WILL NOT BE A SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This is a Request for Information (RFI) and will not result in an award.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), on behalf of the U.S. House of Representatives (hereinafter "House"), is seeking capability statements from interested vendors as part of a two-step Request for Information (RFI) process to assess the feasibility of integrating standard rack mount Information Technology (IT), communications and video broadcast systems into rugged transit cases in support of deployed operational contingencies which will allow for autonomous operation once setup.
The CAO is one of three Officers of the U. S. House of Representatives along with the Clerk and the Sergeant at Arms. The Officers, together with the Architect of the Capitol and other House offices, jointly provide a foundation of services to facilitate the work activities of the House, its Members and supporting staff.
This RFI will be accomplished in a two-phased process. During Phase I, vendors will be pre-qualified and those qualified will be invited to submit information during Phase II of this RFI. Selection criteria include proven experience in integrating/packaging IT, communications and video broadcast systems for rapid deployment.
Phase II vendors will receive additional details for use in preparing their responses to this RFI. Phase II of this RFI will seek information on industry wide methodologies, concepts, and technologies that describe the capabilities gained by employing a transit case solution. Solutions should identify integration concepts, shipment, setup and operational concepts, environmental and safety, and power. Submissions should discuss cost, complexity, operational capabilities, and maintenance support of all systems.
It is anticipated that any design shall meet FCC, UI, CE, and MIL-S-901 requirements.
Interested vendors are requested to submit Phase I capability statements via email to Christine.Stewart@mail.house.gov by 2:00 p.m. Eastern on May 31, 2013.
