About this opportunity
NASA's National Space Science Center (NASA/NSSC) has issued a Special Notice regarding a sole source contract for a Data Acquisition System for rotating machinery laboratories at NASA Glenn Research Center. The procurement is set aside for total small business participation and falls under NAICS code 334515 for Instrument Manufacturing for Measuring and Testing Electricity and Electrical Signals. NASA/NSSC intends to award this contract to Dewesoft, LLC under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), having determined they are the sole provider of this specialized system. The acquisition will utilize commercial items and services procurement procedures under FAR Parts 12 and 13. This Special Notice serves as a synopsis of NASA's procurement intentions while providing an opportunity for other qualified vendors to demonstrate their capabilities.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to determine whether the procurement might be conducted competitively rather than as a sole source award, though the final decision remains at the government's discretion. Interested organizations must submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing by 12:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on August 1, 2025, with oral communications not being acceptable. The required system must feature sophisticated hardware specifications including 8 analog input channels with 24-bit A/D conversion and 200 kS/sec simultaneous sampling, plus comprehensive software capabilities for rotating machinery analysis including FFT analysis, order tracking, modal testing, and bearing fault detection. Contractors must be able to provide a system capable of real-time analysis and recording, unlimited user data sharing without additional licensing, and preferably offer unlimited no-cost future software updates. The system will be deployed at NASA Glenn Research Center to support high-speed rotating machinery test rigs and laboratory operations.
