About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA Glenn Research Center's (GRC) requirements for procuring a Data Acquisition (DAQ) system for high-speed rotating machinery test rigs. The required system must have specific hardware and software capabilities, including a minimum of 8 analog input channels capable of sampling various dynamic and process sensor inputs, 8 synchronized counter inputs, and the ability to accept analog voltage inputs with signal conditioning. The hardware specifications mandate a 24-bit A/D conversion with anti-aliasing filter and 200 kS/sec simultaneous sampling per channel.
The software must include a comprehensive suite of rotating machinery analysis tools such as FFT analysis, frequency response function (FRF), order tracking, orbit analysis, waterfall and Bode plotting, modal testing, rotor balancing, and bearing fault detection. Additional key requirements include the capability to record raw dynamic data at maximum sampling rate, perform real-time analysis and recording concurrently, and enable data sharing across unlimited users without additional licensing. The solicitation considers unlimited no-cost future software updates as a major advantage, indicating NASA's preference for a flexible and continuously improving DAQ system for its rotating machinery laboratories.

Statement of Work
NASA GRC requires the procurement of a Data Acquisition (DAQ) system for high speed rotating machinery test rigs. The required DAQ system shall be capable of dynamic signal sampling, analysis, and storage with the following minimum requirements:
Data acquisition hardware specifications required to ensure proper fit and function:
Minimum of 8 general analog input channels capable of sampling a variety of dynamic and/or process sensor inputs (ex. accelerometers, proximity probe, thermocouples, strain gauges, etc.)
Minimum of 8 assignable synchronized counter inputs for tachometer and/or trigger
Capable of accepting analog voltage inputs and/or providing on-board signal conditioning of typical sensors if desired (adaptors acceptable):
- minimum capability to sample +/- 20V analog signal
- charge input up to 50000 pC
- direct bridge excitation capability for direct strain gauge input (ex. +/- 1 to
+/- 1000 mV/V @10V excitation)
- native TC input (type K preferred)
Minimum 24 bit A/D conversion w/anti-aliasing filter
Minimum 200 kS/sec simultaneous per channel
Software specifications required to ensure proper fit and function:
Software with minimum suite of rotating machinery tools to include:
FFT analysis
FRF
Order tracking Orbit analysis (filtered and unfiltered) Waterfall plotting capability (in time and order domains) Bode plot capability (time and order domain) Modal test capability Rotor balancing (minimum of two plane) Bearing fault detection (incl. bearing characteristic frequency identification)
Capability to do multiple real-time analysis and display results simultaneously for real-time health monitoring
Capability to record raw dynamic data to file at max sampling rate and recall for any available analysis in post processing
Real-time analysis and recording capabilities shall be concurrent
Data sharing with unlimited users without additional licenses required is a major advantage
Unlimited no-cost future software updates considered a major advantage
