Update #1 ·

Added: Jun 15, 2017 5:57 pm This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested.

The National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) conducts research and respirator approval activities in a variety of areas. The scientific staff within the Evaluation and Testing Branch (E&TB) of the NPPTL conducts respirator performance evaluations in support of the Conformity Verification and Standards Development Branch (CVSDB) and NPPTL's respirator approval program. Much of this testing involves environmental conditioning of respirator protective devices (RPD), PPE performance evaluations with human subjects, and method development testing in support of the NPPTL standard development activities. A compressed air source is required for test system process operations and to provide breathing air for human test subjects, after the proper filtration is performed. NPPTL intends to purchase a compressed air system that is constructed to conform to the required Technical Specifications outlined in the Statement of Work. The compressor air system must be installed at the NIOSH facility and be "turn key." Please refer to the attached solicitation document.
