The Clip-On Display Optic (CODO) program objectives are three-fold. The primary objective creates a fieldable display optic, or optics, capable of providing Heads-Up Display (HUD information to all three types of day scopes: Short-range / infantry, Medium range / marksman, Long range / sniper. A secondary objective issues an interface document allowing other organizations to create compatible sensor technologies and have the information displayed through pre-existing CODO hardware. This open interface is key to expanding the integrated sensor suite compatible with the CODO. The final objective creates a long-wave imaging module, a GPS module, and the interface for the Kestrel environmental sensor and STORM LRF, providing an initial operational capability.
