The U.S. Geological Survey intends to award a non-competitive firm fixed price contract to the University of Oklahoma for the deployment of a portable dual-polarization weather Doppler radar unit in South Texas to continuously collect data on flying animals and targets in the atmosphere. The radars are capable of at least 90 consecutive days of deployment. The data from the deployments will be delivered to the USGS in Level II NEXRAD format after each campaign. The Contractor will be required to provide all personnel, equipment, tools and materials to deploy the equipment, perform the data interpretation and delivery to the USGS in the proper format.

Period of performance is for one period of 246 days and one option period of 114 days.

The University of Oklahoma Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC) custom-build radar system is unique in their ability and expertise to deploy portable doppler radars and convert that into Level II NEXRAD data. The data needs to be congruent with prior Level II NEXRAD data collected by the University of Oklahoma's Advanced Radar Research Center (ARRC).

In accordance with FAR 5.207, all responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency, however, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
