The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order with the large business manufacturer Zimmer Biomet. The procurement is for ROSA One Brain 3.0. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339112. The ROSA Brain device is a robotic platform that assists neurosurgeons in positioning medical instruments or implants during surgery. The device is composed of a compact robotic arm and a touch screen mounted on a stand. Different types of instruments may be attached to the end of the robotic arm depending on the procedure to be completed. This procurement is limited to one source in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(2) Soliciting from a Single Source, as no other supplies with satisfy the Agency s requirement. The anticipated award date: 07/10/2020.

This notice satisfies the requirement at FAR 5.201(b)(1), to publicize the proposed contract action. This will be the only notice of the Government's intent to solicit, negotiate, and award to one source to satisfy this requirement.
