About this opportunity

The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration is conducting a market research Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential contractors for hemodialysis units at the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center in Long Beach, California. The procurement involves supplying, installing, configuring, and validating medical equipment that can integrate with VA legacy systems like VistA/CPRS and provide real-time clinical alerts. Contractors must demonstrate capability to provide comprehensive installation, configuration, validation, technical support, and maintenance services for the hemodialysis units. The RFI requires interested vendors to submit detailed information including company details, unique entity identification, small business status, product specifications, and capability statements with specific reference contracts. Responses are due by February 20, 2025, at 4:00 PM PST, with submissions to be sent via email to the contracting officer.

The solicitation does not currently have a specific small business set-aside, but is specifically seeking information from Small Businesses, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), and Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (VOSB). The NAICS code for this procurement is 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing), with vendors required to confirm they meet small business size standards for this classification. While no specific award value is mentioned in the pre-solicitation notice, the technical requirements specify the hemodialysis units must have advanced features including dual control systems, heat exchangers, programmable disinfection cycles, real-time blood flow monitoring, and portability. Vendors must provide estimated installation timelines and general pricing information as part of their market research response. All potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database to be considered.
