About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 57th Rescue Squadron, is conducting market research for Ground Mobility Trailers designed for specialized military operations. The pre-solicitation seeks industry feedback on trailers with specific technical requirements, including accommodations for 6-8 personnel, a hub drive system for enhanced off-road capabilities, and a maximum weight of 6,000 lbs. The trailers must feature two workstations with racking and cabling infrastructure, have globally available replacement parts, and potentially include armor options. The market research period is open from February 18, 2025, to February 28, 2025, with the primary objective of gathering detailed information from potential manufacturers about their ability to meet the Air Force's specialized mobility trailer specifications. No contract award will be made directly from this market research solicitation, which is intended to refine requirements and assess industry capabilities.
The pre-solicitation does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, suggesting the opportunity will be open to all qualified vendors within the Military Armored Vehicle, Tank, and Tank Component Manufacturing NAICS category. The proposed trailers must include advanced features such as dual power systems (diesel generator and solar), climate control for extreme temperatures ranging from -20°F to 100°F, and comprehensive communications capabilities including Starshield terminal and multiple antenna mounts. While no specific award value is mentioned, the detailed technical requirements suggest a sophisticated and potentially high-value procurement. The trailer must be compatible with F-250 towing, feature Twin XL-sized beds that can convert to medical litters, and maintain a military-appropriate aesthetic in dark green or flat dark earth coloration. The comprehensive specifications indicate the Air Force is seeking a highly specialized, multipurpose mobility solution for rescue and special warfare operations.
