1.2 PROJECT INFORMATION
A. Project Identification: Provide Corrosion Correction Treatment and Preventative Coating on Various Aluminum Hardware.
1. Project Location: Onboard Coast Guard Cutter Bernard C. Webber, U. S. Coast Guard Base Miami Beach, 100 MacArthur Causeway, Miami Beach, FL 33139.
1.3 SCOPE OF WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
A. The work of project is defined by the contract documents and consists of the following:
1. In general, the project consists of all work, including labor, equipment and materials, necessary to remediate corrosion on several pieces of aluminum hardware on the Coast Guard Cutter Bernard C. Webber. This includes Replacing both front and back Canvas Awnings for the following:
a. Front Awning Aluminum Frame
b. Rear Awning Aluminum Frame
c. Front Replacing Old Canvas Awning with New
d. Rear Replacing old Canvas Awning with New
1.4 WORK SEQUENCE
A. The work shall be conducted by the contractor to provide the least possible interference to the activities of government personnel.
B. Please provide notification to Coast Guard at least one full week prior to starting work.
1.5 WORK BY GOVERNMENT
A. General: Cooperate fully with Government so work may be carried out smoothly, without interfering with or delaying work under this contract or work by Government. Coordinate the work of this contract with work performed by Government. Contractor shall cooperate fully with other contractors that may also be working in the area or onboard the CGC Bernard C. Webber.
1.6 ACCESS TO SITE
A. General: During the project period the contractor shall have limited use of project site for construction operations as indicated on drawings, as indicated by requirements of this Section, and as specified by the Contracting Officer.
1. Material storage and work areas shall be as designated by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The COR shall be the contractors main POC for the work contained in this project. The COR for this project shall be:

1.7 WORK RESTRICTIONS
A. Work Restrictions, General: Comply with restrictions on construction operations.
1. Comply with limitations on use of public streets and with other requirements of authorities having jurisdiction.
B. On-Site Work Hours: Limit work in the existing building to normal business working hours of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, unless otherwise indicated.
1. Submit request to the COR at least 72 hours in advance for permission to work outside the normal working hours or on Saturdays, Sundays, or federal holidays.
C. Take action to prevent the spread of construction dust and debris.
1.8 SITE MAINTENANCE
A. The contractor shall perform daily clean-up of work site, dumpsters and storage area. All dumpsters shall be covered and watertight should a contractor choose to utilize one.
1.9 ALUMINUM CLEANING AND REPAIR
A. Awning Frame
1. Contractor will remove canvas canopy cover from the aluminum frame prior to the start of work. Contractor shall clean polish and sand as necessary to remove corrosion from awnings aluminum frame. Once complete contractor shall coat awning structure in a clear polymer ceramic coating which provides anti-corrosion, anti-rust, and UV protection for the metal. Contractor shall apply coating per manufacturer’s instructions. Once Completed Contractor will Re-Tie Front and Rear Canvas.
