8. Question: When making turns around the control building or other obstacles will LB’s be able to be used??
Answer: Yes, LB’s (condulets) can be used as needed.
9. What type of anchors will be accepted?
Hilti RE500V anchor or approved equal.
10. Question: While running conduit along the river wall will a barge and lift be provided or is it the contractor's responsibility?
Answer: It is the contractor’s responsibility.
11. Question: Is there a particular grout requirement for patching back around the conduits after the cores?
Answer: Caulking with Polysulfide sealant.
12. Question: Is the concrete scanning going to be performed by TVA or contractor?
Answer: No, the contractor is responsible for scanning the concrete.
13. Question: Will all embedment in concrete need to be scanned or just the core cut?
Answer: No, just the core cut.
14. Question: What specific training will need to be taken by all on site personnel and what is the duration of the training (LOTO, Barge, Drilling‐chipping, aerial Lift, ETC)?
Answer: The contractor must adhere to the requirement of EM 385-1-1.
15. Question: Will the contractor be allowed to utilize the government’s barge with lift to install the conduit on the upstream side?
Answer: No, the contractor is responsible for all equipment needed.
16. Question: Will TVA be scanning and marking the concrete prior to penetrations being cored? Will the contractor be forced to await TVA’s approval before coring locations can be determined and penetrations are made?
Answer: No, the contractor is responsible for scanning the concrete. After coring locations are determined, the Corps will request for TVA's approval and it usually takes 2‐3 weeks.
17. Question: Will the contractor be required to use a drill stop when making core penetrations?
Answer: Yes.
18. Question: May the contractor go around the “vault/transformer room” if it holds to be a viable alternative, or must the contractor go through the room?
Answer: No, conduits must go through the room.
