Requests for Information (RFIs)

1. If awarded the job, are there any weekly or biweekly meetings that need to be attended? I only ask because we are out of Pennsylvania.

Answer: No, weekly meetings will not be required.

2. Do you intend on having interior protection since the roof is not being fully removed?

Answer: Yes, per SOW in section 3.12 for Replace Roof at Building 514. Interior protection is not required for Replace Roof at Building 423.

3. Can you explain how you want a price to replace insulation by square foot when there is 4" of insulation in the field and 10" on the roof edge (Bldg 514)?

Answer: Build up insulation to reach R36 value while maintaining a minimum of 1/4 inch per foot slope to drains and price accordingly.

4. Are we adding insulation to existing insulation to achieve the R36 or just replacing the cover board? In the base bid it is saying to give a price to replace the coverboard and install new EPDM. Adding the half inch iso will not give you R36. The base bid info and the specs aren't matching up.

Please clarify.

Answer: Yes, add new insulation to achieve R36, per SOW in section 3.3 for both projects.

5. Are back ground checks required to work on base?

Answer: Yes, background checks are required for unescorted access onto a DoD installation. This is in the interest of site security.

6. If so what would disqualify an employee from working onsite?

Answer: Please see Section 01000 in the solicitation, Part 17, Security Requirements.
