Requests for Information (RFIs)
1. Could you provide the contact info for the ASCO representative as there will be some programming / interface issues with the ASCO gear and the new generators. The existing interfaces in the ASCO gear are the old style to be compatible with the existing generators. The new generators will require new interface upgrade I believe in the ASCO gear.
Answer: ASCO switch gear was upgraded in 2013. ASCO sales order NO. 11615. Contact info is as follows ASCO Power Technologies, Florham Park New Jersey, 07932. Telephone (973) 966‐2000.
2. Two wage rates are shown in the wage determination for electrical work. Which one will apply to this contract?
Answer: The Electrician (Industrial Work Only) will apply to the contract resulting from this solicitation.
3. The 250 gallon fuel tank size specified in the SOW is insufficient to run the 400 KW generator for 24 hours. Please clarify.
Answer: With 1,320 gallons of fuel (total) in the “Belly Tanks” aka 24 hour tanks, we will not need to use the three 300 gallon reserve tanks. However, the generators will need the capability for outside/exterior refueling.
4. Are there any changes to the existing fuel tanks in the adjoining fuel tank room? Is the existing secondary containment sufficient?
Answer: Fuel tanks in the adjoining room are no longer needed for the project and will be capped off.
5. If we provide a temporary 400 KW generator with temporary leads connected to the emergency MDP can we disconnect and change out both existing generators in one outage?
Answer: No, Emergency generator power requires more than 400 KW to meet circuit demands in the facility to sustain mission essential operations in the event of a loss of commercial power.
6. Is a Bond required for this contract?
Answer: No, this requirement does not require a bond.
7. Are Email bids accepted with a hard copy following by mail?
Answer: As listed in the solicitation, all offers must be submitted electronically to the primary point of contact, MSgt Daniel Boone, at daniel.a.boone3.mil@mail.mil . A hard copy is not required.
