Requests for Information (RFIs)

1. New spec, section 14 calls for 450 kW rating. The paragraph above, and all other areas of the SOW make reference to the 400 kW replacement. Please clarify.

Answer: 400kW is the correct rating, 450 kW is an error.

2. Regarding fuel tank size in section 14 ‐ The 2015 NFPA code 37, section 6.3.2, limits the total amount of fuel you can have indoors (without fire detection/suppression/containment) to 1320 gallons. Since you have 3 ea. 300 gallon tanks in the room adjacent to the generators, you are limited to 420 gallons for the generators, or 210 gallons each. Is there any other tanks or equipment, such as the boiler, that have onboard fuel storage? If so, the total storage must be accounted for and deducted from the total available above.

Answer: There is no other onboard fuel storage in the facility. With 1,320 gallons of fuel in the “Belly Tanks” aka 24 hour tanks, we will not need to use the three 300 gallon reserve tanks. However, the generators will need the capability for outside/exterior refueling.
