GLOBAL ASNT

W912JB-19-B-5008

RFI’S

1. Reference SOW 1. (B) – Please confirm Site Visits discussion that only shop drawing will be needed for foundation – No Professional Engineer (PE) seal needed. However, the platform will need both a licensed PE Seal and shop drawings.

a. Correct

2. Please provide depths of utilities identified in the utilities drawing that fall along direction boring / trench path from B303 to ASNT Platform location.

a. Utilities will be marked before any work will start via Dig Permit. This is not an all-inclusive list and should not be taken as such.

b. See Attachment 6, modified for force main location. 6’ deep or more.

c. There is an electrical line running perpendicular to George Ave, approximately 12-15’ form the SE side of B/303. Depth unknown.

3. Reference Security Sensor Compatibility Fence Requirements 2.6 - Please confirm that the security sensors, IDS and testing described in this section are not a part of this project and will be done by others.

a. Confirmed.

4. Will electrical grounding/bonding of the fence also be done by others?

a. Negative. Through this contract.

5. Please confirm a soil erosion plan and permit is required for this project.

a. Confirmed

6. Please clarify POP of 60 days as stated in SOW or 180 days as stated in solicitation?

a. 60 days is the correct period of performance

7. Please confirm that the furnish and install of underground wire/fiber to be done by others. Only the furnish and install of the underground conduit is a part of this contract.

a. Conduit is all that is required by contract

8. Please confirm power for ASNT to be provided by others.

a. Confirmed.

9. Please expand on Bldg. 303 weatherproofing scope.

a. Scope of waterproofing is changed as such:

i. No longer waterproofing from the outside.

ii. Water control on the inside the controlled area to include:

1. Install approximately 365 LF of interior edge drain on perimeter walls 6- 12” from the perimeter wall. Exact layout to be agreed upon between the COR and contractor before an saw cutting.

2. Perimeter drain system similar/or equal to:

https://www.basementtechnologies.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/Water_Trek.pdf

3. Where there are columns in the perimeter wall, the drain will run in-line with the edge of the column to reduce bends in the drain.

4. Install grate drain in front of the north entry door

5. Construct a 24” sump pit in the location shown on the attached drawing. There is a drain pipe and power within 3’-4’ of that location on the northwest wall.

6. Tie the perimeter drain into the constructed sump pit

10. For the weatherproofing scope:

- It was discussed that only the three sides of building is required to be weather proofed. Please confirm.

- Are the stairwells included in the weather proofing scope?

- Is the small structure attached to the back of the building included in the weatherproofing scope?

- It was discussed that the numerous air condition units and other utilities on the two side walls would all need to be disconnected/purged/ reconnected etc... Is this part of the scope? If so would testing or commissioning of any of this equipment be included in this scope – once it is brought back on line?

- Are all of the A/C units operational? Are any of the A/C units under warranty?

Please provide default specs for this scope and expand scope statement for that

11. Item 1A of the SOW states provision of a“Reinforced concrete Pad – 14’ x 14’ x 6”. 3000psi concrete minimum. Designed to withstand Michigan winters with no frost heave”, and Item 1B regarding the steel platform states “Resonant frequency should be considered as minimum 25 Hz. Rotational stiffness of platform structure cannot exceed 2.7x10-8 radians/inch-pound”.

a. In order to meet these requirements we will need a full geotechnical report which includes factors pertinent to the dynamic characteristics for the underlying soils, so that an accurate assessment of the soil/structure interactions can be made.

b. We would recommend a full depth monolithic concrete base with a depth down to frost depth (42”) + above grade as required. This will meet frost requirements and also the additional mass will help with damping out vibrations when considering natural/resonant frequencies.

c. Answer: The recommended course of action would be acceptable.

12. Can the G-ASNT unit be directly mounted to the concrete pad, and can the pad be used as the walking/working surface. If not, can the G-ASNT unit only be directly mounted to the concrete pad, and a steel platform built around it to eliminate any secondary vibration affects caused by the platform structure?

a. The G-ANST antennae is required to be attached to the metal platform.
