2. Are there detailed drawings for the sea chests and other areas requiring repair?

Answer: We have approximately 500 AutoCAD as-built drawings. We can share these files upon request to the Contracts Specialist via secure file transfer.

3. The Performance Work Statement (PWS), paragraph 1.5 doesn’t prescribe a specific MSD system. Will you add verbiage prescribing a particular system or equal?

Answer: Yes, we’ll add the following MSD system to PWS, paragraph 1.5: RED FOX RF-1000-M with Vacuum Collection or approved equal.

4. Does the MSD system process gray water?

Answer: No, only black water.

5. Does the MSD pipe replacement noted in PWS paragraph 1.5.5 have to be welded joints or will crimp joints be acceptable.

Answer: Yes, crimp joints will be acceptable as long as there are no leaks. We will amend the PWS to be less restrictive.

6. Are there general arrangement drawings available for the Alaskan Crane Barge?

Answer: No. However, repair work needed shouldn’t require general arrangement drawings.

7. What is the specified area for painting?

Answer: The water tanks.

8. Is the contractor responsible for creating a dry dock plan that accounts for the additional length added to the Hurley?

Answer: Yes.

9. What is the length and draft of the Hurley?

Answer: Length is 350’, draft is approximately 8’.

10. PWS paragraph 1.4.1 has no verbiage requiring the contractor to treat potable water tanks after blasting and coating. Will that be a requirement?

Answer: Yes, we will add the following verbiage in an amendment:

“Water tanks will be treated after paint is cured. Treatment consist of super chlorinating the water tanks with full tank of water, then draining and refilling tanks.”

11. Are there any sewage pipe drawings available?

Answer: Yes, as noted these AutoCAD drawings are available via secured file transfer upon request to the Contract Specialist.

12. Does the Government require a certified dry dock?

Answer: We don’t want to be overly prescriptive in a commercial contract but the Government must be assured the contractor has a dry dock with the capacity to safely perform the work. The USCG has a standard describing various methods of obtaining dry dock certification: SFLC Standard Specification 8634, paragraph 3.2.3, Table 1, which can be found at the following link:
