RFI RESPONSE

DINFOS Signage, CORRIDOR – A, Procurement and Installation

Request for Information

Q1. Section A - What is the mounting method of Service Crests?

A1. That is up to the contractor as long as it is stable and permanent.

Q2. Section A4 - accent/spot lights to highlight the crests & lettering - can you provide more detail here?

Are you asking the contractor to perform electrical work for lighting in the ceiling or wall or will the Government provide the rough-in for electrical? Where do you want these lights? What kind of lighting do you have in mind?

A2. Examples of this information are contained in the attached drawings.

Q3. Section C - Wood laminate cases - can you provide approx. dimensions of these cases? Please provide your design concept for the space, drawings provided are not absolute for what the client wants.

They are looking for an overall pleasing and appropriate aesthetic. (length, height, depth) Do you want these cases to have clear vitrine tops to cover the artifacts?

A3. Yes, clear to allow view of artifacts.

Q4. Section E - Lenticular wall graphic - can elaborate more on this item? Do you want a two directional mural that is built onto a shuttered surface that projects out from the wall? Please provide your interpretation of requirement. Typically lenticular graphics provide a varied view depending on the view point… Do you have a photo of what you have in mind for this? At 513" Wide - is this all one uninterrupted wall section or is it broken down to multiple wall areas?

A4. Images will be provided by the client per this amended solicitation; please see attached.

Q5. Section E - Monitor - where is the monitor attaching? Do you need a mounting bracket for a wall mount? What is the input for data to this monitor?

A5. All monitors need to be mounted to the wall (contractor shall provide all mounting materials);

DINFOS will provide media.

Q6. Section G - Monitor - where is the monitor attaching? Do you need a mounting bracket for a wall mount? What is the input for data to this monitor? (USB thumb drive or other?)

A6. Please see A5.

Q7. Overall project: Is the contractor providing design services for the wall murals and other graphic panels? Provided by contractor is the Government providing images/content for these murals?

A7. Some images will be provided by the client; please see attached. If the contractor has a better image/suggestion the client is open.

Q8. Overall project: Is there any removal on the installation site for these items? (are the walls bare and prepped for contractors to install wall murals or graphics or do we need to do any prep work first?) If YES, can you provide a site visit so that we may see the areas and better understand scope?

A8. Walls do not require removal of anything existing – they are currently painted.

Q9. Overall project: The Price Schedule provided doesn't appear to cover all the item sections: you have sections "A" thru "K" listed in the SOW but the pricing schedule goes from "H" to "K" - can you provide a more clear pricing schedule or can we provide a more detailed pricing schedule? (If you require design services, as part of this project, we would also like to have a place to provide graphic design services as well).

A9. The complete Price Schedule has been updated in this amendment; please see attached.

Q10. In the solicitation, it mentioned that the basis for award will be lowest price technically acceptable and that bids will be organized from lowest price to highest price. Based on my past experience with solicitations similar to this one, even though they are classified as lowest price technically acceptable, we have been awarded them as best value to the government because of our technical capabilities and past work performance while being very competitive on pricing.

Will you be looking at every bid that is submitted? Or just the lowest one and if that bid technically acceptable all other bids are not looked at?

A10. The government shall evaluate all offeror’s prices, and then evaluate the apparent lowest-priced proposal for acceptability under the technical factor. If the lowest-price proposal was evaluated as unacceptable, the agency shall then consider the acceptability of the next lowest-price proposal, continuing this process as necessary.

a. Note: Please disregard price(s) as shown; figures represent in-house execution.
