Answer 5 The spud well dimension is incorrectly shown on the drawing as 42-1/2” x 42-1/2”. The 42-1/2” dimensions shown in the plan view of the spud well drawing should be 30” x 30”. The spud dimensions are 30”x30” per Contract Drawing 843-B550-01. The Contractor shall update the drawings during the engineering phase of the Contract to reflect these changes.

* Question 6 Section C456 Capstan, Item D, page 45. Specifications specified a deck mounted in-line capstan (the Schoellhorn-Albrecht model 22300 in line capstan specified is a thru-the deck capstan).

The General arrangement drawing has the two (2) stern capstan units located over the ballast tanks.

Can the shipyard provide a standard deck mounted unit? We do not believe a thru-deck capstan located in a ballast tank is ideal for operation.

Answer 6 The Government does not intend to change the requirement in the solicitation and on the drawings at this time. This issue will be considered during the engineering phase and any changes resulting from this will be addressed at a later date.

* Question 12 Section C425, Item D, Floor Plating, page 34 and Section C430, Item C, Interior Decks, page 36). Can contractors use standard Stainless steel self-taping screws in lieu of countersunk - NOTE:

the diamond floor plated has the raised diamond pattern also the smooth aluminum floor plates located below the main deck (in the bunk room area & the hold level head) will have underlayment with either a rubber flooring system or poylmeric decking install over the aluminum. (which the screw head thickness should be less than the underlayment & flooring system)

Answer 12 The Government does not intend to change the requirement in the solicitation and on the drawings.

* Question 13 Section C425, specifications states on page 34 - The floor plates in the bunk room area (frame 31-40, outboard starboard side) shall consist of smooth aluminum plate.
