Discussion

1. Is a certificate showing completion of the EM 385-1-1 training course required?

The contract does not specify that a certificate is required. However, the Contractor is responsible for following all applicable regulations outlined in the EM385-1-1

2. Is a written safety plan required? Yes.

3. Are the wood windows being replaced with aluminum windows on the Outside Maintenance Building?

Yes, all newly supplied and installed windows shall be aluminum.

4. Will painting of the interior wall be required under the newly installed trim?

Yes, the interior of the walls shall appear finished after installation of the complete window system.

This includes any painting as well as repair of any damage to the interior or external walls of the building.

5. Is wire mesh required for the exterior door of the Administration Building?

(Door #118)

This door has been addressed in Amendment 4 and is no longer included in the contract. All other exterior doors do not require wire mesh between the panes of the 6” x 30” window.

6. Is the rough opening and new window system required to be centered between the interior walls, or can it be located along the grout line/joint visible from the exterior?

Drawing sheet #AS103 states that window shall be centered between interior walls.

7. There is an antenna mounted on the outside of Window #5 with a cord running through the frame.

Is contractor responsible for re-installing this antenna/cord?

No, USACE shall remove the antenna and cord before removal of the existing window. Re-installation of the antenna will be the responsibility of USACE.

8. Who will be responsible for connecting the electrical security access hardware on the exterior doors?

Contractor is responsible for the mounting and proper fit/compatibility of the electronic security access hardware. USACE will be responsible for reconnecting the electronic security access hardware.
