1. The specifications and drawings for subject project are hereby modified as follows (revise all specification indices, attachment lists, and drawing indices accordingly).

(1) Section 01 10 00, page 139, paragraph 5.4.6.1, delete the text, “, and either Section 8.4, Prescriptive Option, or 8.5, Performance Option”.

A. Interior Color Schedule:

Finish colors are listed to establish design direction for the facility. The manufacturers referenced are not intended to limit the selection of equal colors from other manufacturers. Colors for finishes not identified shall be compatible and coordinate with the listed finish colors and shall be coordinated with the Contracting Officer. B. Interior Finishes

Refer to section 6.5.4.2 for minimum requirements of interior finishes.

C. Color

Refer to section 6.5.4.2 for color of interior finishes.

The word “color” as used herein includes surface color and pattern. Color selections shall provide an aesthetically pleasing, comfortable, easily maintainable and functional environment for the occupants.

Coordination of interior and exterior building colors and finishes is necessary for a cohesive design. Color selection shall be appropriate for the building type. Limit the number of similar colors for each material.

Grout: Color of ceramic and porcelain tile grout shall be a medium range color to help hide soiling.

Plastic Laminate and Solid Surfacing Material: Shall have patterns that are mottled, flecked or speckled, except for sinks. Countertops at sinks shall be light to medium range in color to help hide water spotting. Small areas of accent may be solid in color.

Carpet: Solid color carpet may be used as a border or small area of accent in higher profile spaces to add interest. Recommend the use of several coordinating carpet patterns within the same color-way within the facility to provide variety and continuity between different areas.

Patterns:

a) Use variation of color or floor patterns to visually shorten long corridors and add interest.

b) Provide wall and/or floor tile patterns using several coordinating colors in the toilets as appropriate. Tile patterns shall be appropriate to size and shape of rooms.

Accent Walls: Recommend the use of accent walls when appropriate to add interest.

Wallcovering: Shall have visual texture for ease of maintenance. Wallcovering with the appearance of a solid color shall not be used.

Stained Woodwork: Shall match throughout the facility.

Miscellaneous Items: Finish colors of fire extinguisher cabinets, receptacle bodies and plates, fire alarms/warning lights, emergency lighting, and other miscellaneous items shall be coordinated with the building interior design. Color of equipment items on ceilings (speakers, smoke detectors, grills, etc.)

shall match the ceiling color.
