Cable Television & Wireless Internet Services

Question and Answer Set 1

1. Can you please forward this to the end user involved in this RFP?

A: Yes and all Q&A’s will be posted in RFQ. On most of our projects, we do a site survey or walk through once a vendor has been selected.

2. Can you provide the floor plans or some photos of the areas you want service in?

A: Floor plan has been added. Sorry photos are not allowed.

3. What is the type of Building? Office, classroom, barracks?

A: Offices.

4. Do you need wireless service for all of the two buildings or just a portion of each building?

A: 3 Sections of the buildings. That is why we are asking for minimum 3 routers for enough coverage.

5. Do you need Wi-Fi?

A: Yes, see sec 3.0 of SOW

6. Do you need hardwired connections such as ethernet cable for connection and limits the number of devices that can connect?

A: Yes at 24 connections minimum, See Sec 3.0 of SOW .

7. Number of Wired Ports being requested?

A: 8 ports minimum per router, sec 2.2.3 of SOW (pg 2, numbering typo should be 3.2.3)

8. What is the total permissible occupancy of each building?

A: 12-15 people.

9. Is the usage during certain times of day such as 7am to 6pm?

A: The internet and TV needs to be live 24/7

10. What types of Devices in use? Laptops, cellphones, Xboxes, smart TV IP telephony?

A: Laptops, desktops, cellphones, TVs and ipads.

11. Would users be accessing the following? Video Streaming Platforms such as Hulu, Netflix, Disney+ ?

A: NO. See Sec 2.3 of SOW

12. Audio Streaming such as Spotify or Pandora?

A: Yes

13. Social Networks such as Facebook, Instagram?

A: Yes

14. Gaming such as Xbox or PlayStation?

A: No

15. Do you need Public or Private Ips? A Public IP is from the local ISP, Private is designated and assigned by contractor.

A: Public IPs are needed.

16. Do you need DHCP or Static IP? DHCP IP is a dynamic assignment of IP to device.

A: DHCP

17. Do you want users to access wireless through a Splash page with acceptance of an end user agreement?

A: No.

18. What is the number of SSIDs needed? This is the network name for your wifi network. The device will see and connect to this network for example, Eglin_AFB_Library

A: 3 SSIDs, FLNG_PAO_CIV, FLNG_VI_CIV, FLNG_IT_CIV

19. Is the inside wiring usable by the contractor? What type of cabling is it?

A: Yes. COAX and current connected to COMCAST.

20. Is the Government Fiber available for to use?

A: No, fiber is currently Not available

21. When is the building telecom room available for to use?

A: No telecom Room, Delete Sec 4.4 of SOW

22. Is there available rack space?

A: No telecom Room, Delete Sec 4.4 of SOW

23. Is there power to the telecom room?

A: No telecom Room, Delete Sec 4.4 of SOW.

24. If no is there an alternate location can mount equipment inside the building?

A: Yes. See attached diagram showing current locations.

25. Would a satellite tv provider be considered suitable for this site?

A: No. We cannot install anything on the building.

26. Is there a floorplan with tv locations and placement of internet routers?

A: Yes, See attached diagram showing current locations.

27. Are there ethernet cords already ran to routers boxes already?

A: No.

28. Can the government confirm a channel lineup or level of service for the Cable TV service?

A: As an example: Xfinity® Channel Lineup– Popular TV 125 +

29. Can the government confirm how many hard wire connections need to be installed?

A: At least 24 wired ports, if using 3 routers at 8 port’s per. There is no requirement to install “new” connections.

30. Can the government provide the drawings for the PAO building so that the vendor can conduct a predictive wireless survey to ensure coverage for all locations? Or can the government provide the number of Wireless Access Points currently installed?

A: PAO DIAGRAM is attached to show location of 3 current WAP routers. Each router needs to have a wireless access point.
