Question Set #1, laundry requirement, W911YN-20-Q-0021

Q: Will there be an opportunity for an on-site visit in order to assess the exact type of services requested by this location?

ANS: The vendor may request a day, prior to the close of the contract, we will attempt to schedule them for up to 30 min of Q&A. This should not be used to prevent the closing of the bid however.

Q: The items listed in the technical laundry attachment are specialized items. Typically, these types of items would be priced by the piece, not by the pound. Would there be an option to reconsider the way in which these items are priced?

ANS: We would prefer to continue to use the lbs measuring requirement, this is not open for change at this time.

Q: In section 5.4 of the PWS, it is indicated that the turnaround time for the pickup of dirty linens and return of the same laundered items is 30 days? Is this correct? If not, how many times per month will traveling to the Central Issue Facility (CIF) be necessary?

ANS: This is correct. Current estimate is once a month on average to the CIF (Depending on pick-up vehicle size). There is no guarantee of a monthly cleaning requirement, some months are slow are faster.

Would you be willing to share a record of the annual workload (volume of linens processed) for the last five years at the CIF location in order to give us a better understanding of the requirements of this contract?

ANS: We do not process linens, our OCIE workload varies from month to month. The cleaning of OCIE by contract is only two years in the works currently, we anticipate a minimum quantity of approximately 11,000 items.
