1. Upgrade/Replace controls for all crane functions (Trolley, Bridge, Main and Aux Hoists) for crane B103, Bldg 110, Watervliet Arsenal, NY

2. Crane manufacturer is P&H, S/N: 12046. Crane capacity is 30 Ton main hoist and 5 Ton auxiliary Hoist. Electrical drawings are available upon written request. The contractor will be required to obtain any drawings that they may require from a source (Kone Cranes or similar source) other that the WVA.

3. Contractor will cover the cost of labor, equipment, and materials for the Upgrade/Replace Cab controls with mini-masters.

4. Contractor will:

-Install new enclosures for function controls.

-Install one (1) new console using the Hubbell (or equal) min master controller one (1) for each motion (bridge, trolley, main hoist and auxiliary hoist)

-Upgrade/Replace contactors and wiring. The power source to which the cranes are powered is 250 VDC. However, the equipment shall be tolerant enough of line fluctuations to operate normally at source voltages ranging from 225 to

275 VDC.

- Provide and install new resistors and all associated wiring and conduits as needed.

- Upgrade/Replace existing bridge brakes with newer electric over hydraulic to include new master and slave cylinders like the braking systems installed on crane B248

-Install Magnatek remote control system (or equal product) similar to the ones installed on post (See Below)

a. The wireless digital radio remote-control system(s) utilized shall be designed and manufactured by a manufacturer engaged in design and manufacture of wireless radio remote control systems such as Magnetek Inc.

b. Provide a “turn-key, all inclusive” integration and installation of a complete digital radio remote-control system to permit full control of an existing 250 VDC bridge crane from a portable wireless transmitter.

Provide a “fail-safe” designed system so that the failure of any component or loss of signal will cause all crane motors to stop. The system shall permit complete, independent and simultaneous operation of all crane functions. Crane must remain operational from the existing cab when the radio remote control system is not in use, and vice versa.

Transmitter/Receiver

a. Portable NEMA 4 Transmitter complete with Adjustable belt or Harness, Magnetek Inc. Model MLTX2 series or equivalent.

b. (2) -NiMH Rechargeable Battery Packs and 120VAC Charger.

f. Must be capable of up to 32 selectable RF (Frequency) channels. The available frequency ranges shall be provided with product submittals. The US Army needs to approve the frequency range that will be utilized.

g. Automatic Channel Search functionality: chooses a free frequency, if interference occurs the radio communication automatically moves to a free channel, while operation is not interrupted.

h. Range Limiting functionality: allows the maximum distance within which the transmitting unit must remain to start up the system and to optionally limit the radio remote control working range. Working range should be limited to the bay of operation.

i. Radio remote control transmitter shall control only 1 device.

Interface Relay Panel

a. NEMA 12 indoor enclosure

Cab to Radio Control Transfer Switch

a. NEMA 12 indoor enclosure
