SECTION SF 1449 - CONTINUATION SHEET

The following have been added by full text:

Q&A ROUND 1

The purpose of this memorandum is to document Questions and Answer’s raised as a result of the solicitation/ site visit:

Q1: Is the entrance door glass included in the cleaning requirement?

A1: Yes, there are two sets of double doors at both the front and side of the dining facility (Bldg. 16) that will need to be cleaned and one door to the gym (Bldg. 42) which will need to be cleaned.

Q2: What brand of wax and how much has been used in the past for the area that needs to be stripped/ waxed in the dining facility (Bldg. 16)?

A2: The government utilizes a no-buff wax manufactured by Corcraft (Federal Prison Industries) although any no-buff wax is acceptable. Previous history suggests it takes about 3 gallons of stripper and 3 coats/ 8 gallons of wax to achieve satisfactory results.

Q3: How large is the area to be stripped/ waxed?

A3: Approximately 4,500 s/f.

Q4: Will the facilities be occupied when the cleaning takes place?

A4: No. With that said, the contractor will be required to coordinate with the Government Representative ahead of time to ensure the Government has time to make necessary notifications/ accommodations.

Q5: Are the mats and equipment in the gym required to be cleaned?

A5: Yes. The mats and all equipment touch points will be wiped down with an approved antiviral/ antibacterial solution.

Q6: What are the approved antiviral/ antibacterial solution?

A6: 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water OR 4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water.

Q7: Is any equipment going to be provided by the Government?

A7: No. No equipment to include mops, buckets, sponges, vacuums or any other cleaning equipment will be provided by the Government.

Q8: Will cleaning supplies be provided by the Government?

A8: The Government WILL NOT provide cleaning supplies required to perform the services required by the subsequent contract. However, the Government will provide the supplies necessary to re-stock the bathrooms (i.e.

toilet paper, soap and paper towels).

Q9: Is the kitchen/storage area of the Bldg. 16 included in this requirement?

A9: No, the kitchen/storage area is not included. The kitchen/storage area represents approximately 7,000 s/f of Bldg. 16’s total square footage.

Q10: Are dumpsters available for discarding trash generated by cleaning and emptying of trash bins?

A10: Yes, dumpsters are available for these items.

Q11: May cleaning supplies/ equipment be stored on base between quarterly cleaning’s?

A11: No. The contractor must remove all equipment and supplies at the conclusion of each quarterly cleaning.

Q12: What is the percentage of the flooring that will require stripping/ waxing versus the percentage that will require carpet cleaning?

A12: Approximately 60% strip and wax; 20% carpet; and the remainder tile. Note that this answer only applies to Bldg. 16 since Bldg. 42 does not have carpet or VCT.

Q13: How many windows are there and what are the size and description? Also, are the windows to be cleaned inside and out?

A13: Windows are to be cleaned inside and out. In building 16 there are a total of 5 sliding wide pane windows within the office areas and approximately 18 floor to ceiling window panes within the main dining room. There are 10 smaller sized windows and 4 glass panes on doors within the foyer entry and foyer exit. In Bldg. 42 there is only one entry/exit door with a window that will need to be cleaned.

Q14: How many restrooms are there and what supplies are we to furnish and how much?

A14: In Bldg. 16 there are 6 bathroom stalls in the female restroom, three bathroom sinks, a shower and tile flooring within the women’s locker room that will need to be cleaned.

The men's room has 4 bathroom stalls, three bathroom sinks and 3 urinals that will require cleaning as well as a shower and flooring within the men's room that will need to be maintained.

In Bldg. 42 there are two bathrooms, each with a toilet and sink and one shower room which will need to be cleaned.

In terms of supplies, see the answer to Q8 listed above.

Q15: What are the square footages of Bldg. 16 and 42?

A15: Bldg. 16 is approximately 16,000 s/f total. The contractor is only responsible for cleaning approximately 9,000 s/f of the total space. The kitchen/storage areas, which account for approximately 7,000 s/f of the total square footage, is not included in the area to be cleaned.

Bldg. 42 is approximately 5,550 s/f in total with 3,900 s/f on the first floor and 1,650 s/f on the second floor mezzanine.
