Questions and Answers
1. What is the exact location that the GKR-2011 is being installed and where they would like it to be monitored or viewed?
The drawings are available to be email directly to interested vendors. The install will be in the commercial lane (north lane) and monitored in the guardhouse. The exact location will be left up to you as the technical expert.
*Follow-up Answer from Site Visit: If proposing the Gatekeeper system, recommend 2 quotes be submitted, one with the location by entry gate and one back further on the entry lane (after the last speed bump where the ground levels).
2. How many LPR's for the system? Front and Rear plate or just Rear plate only?
The request is for a single LPR and since all states are required to have a rear plate, that would be the minimum requirement.
3. What is the availability of power and drainage for the GKR-2011? This unit is installed in a pit in the middle of the road and will need to have either a drain that daylights or ties into a storm drain.
The drawings are available to be email directly to interested vendors.
*Follow-up Answer from Site Visit: The system can be tied to the current adjacent storm drain.
4. What is the time line to have quotes and all questions submitted?
Per the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation on Contract Opportunities- Quotes are due NLT 1:00 p.m. CST, 31 August 2021. No deadline was given for questions.
5. When are they looking to have the system installed? Approximately. Just curious if this will most likely be a winter or summer project.
System install should be the first available date, if winter conditions prevents install then spring.
6. Can a cover be offered as an optional item?
Yes, but if it’s like a canopy that would count as real property which we can’t add.
7. Is only one camera needed?
Yes.
8. Is the conduit already available where there used to be a gate arm?
The Government does not know the condition of that conduit.
9. Do you need pre-build design build drawings and as-built drawings?
Yes, but for the proposal – a narrative can be provided and then if awarded the contract, the pre-build design drawings would need to be reviewed and approved before installation.
10. Can you provide CAD drawings of the existing main gate are that we can just add the electrical and civil portion to or do we need to create them from scratch?
We have CAD dwg files from the FY13 Alter Main Base Entry project that can be shared with the awardee.
11. Do the construction wage rates apply?
Construction wage rates do not need to be applied if:
The construction work is limited to simple installation or alteration work that is required as part of furnishing supplies or equipment under a supply contract. Or, the “incidental construction” must be so merged with non-construction work, or so fragmented in terms of the locations or time spans in which it is to be performed, that it is not capable of being segregated as a separate requirement.
