REQUEST FOR INFORMATION v1
PROJECT: OPS Desk Renovation
SOLICITATION: W50S82-20-B-0002
DATE: 22 September 2020
1. Is this project US Citizen Only?
A: The offeror will require CAGE code, DUNS number, SAM registration, and be able to clear processing with Security Forces for a background check.
2. At the site walk, it was discussed that escorts will be required for Contractor personnel. Is this only for work within the secure area or during all times or work? Please advise on the escort process for this building. If someone has secret clearance, do they need an escort?
A: An escort is required in the secure area at all times. An escort is not required for the unclassified area of the project.
3. Please clarify how bids will be received on the bid date (will we be hand delivering 1 original and 1 copy in person in a sealed envelope to the gate, or will we be submitting an electronic bid through email?)
A: The bid submission date has been updated to September 28th at 12:00PM. The offeror has the option to submit electronic or hard copy bid.
4. In the SOW, there are attachments that we did not get. We are assuming A.2 Conceptual Floor Plan is the “Desk Area” drawing but we do not have A.3 Wire Diagram and A.4 Furniture Plan.
If A.3 and A.4 are available, please send.
A: There is no wiring diagram for new work. Attached is the existing wiring diagram for reference. The document, “Ops Desk Sketch”, is the furniture plan.
5. Please provide base standards. Specifically, standard ceiling grid, ceiling tile, and carpet tile.
A: PAINT (Sherwin Williams) - 7048 Urban Bronze – This is the dark brown for the cove base, door frames and doors. 7517 China Doll this is the main color for walls. 7603 Poolhouse, and 7605 Gale Force are the accent wall colors. The two wall colors in this project are China Doll and Gale Force.

6. Item 1.16. references for contractor to provide engineering drawings, however, it was mentioned during the walk that drawings are not required to be prepared nor sealed by a licensed professional engineer. Please confirm that plans prepared, of similar quality to the supplied “Desk Area Drawing” are adequate.
A: Contractor shall provide red line drawings for all new work.
7. Item 2.1.5 - Emergency lights, crash phones, wall mounts, and large flat screen monitors shall be installed by the vendor. Please confirm that the contractor shall install these items, at their cost.
A: Installation cost shall be covered by the vendors labor and installation estimate.
8. Item 2.1.7 specifies lights shall be re-used. During the walk through, it was noticed in the adjacent secure room, that the base standard also includes newer indirect style LED lights. Given the desire for this project is to create a more appealing space, does the government wish to replace the existing lights with these newer indirect lights?
A: Use existing lights.
9. Item 2.4 - Typical wall finish is level 3 and color to be noted on finish schedule. Several existing walls in the flight planning room are textured. Is the finish of these wall surfaces to remain as-is?
A: All walls pertaining to that area are to be level three finish.
10. Item 2.8.2. States that contractor shall verify total building load and ensure new receptacles do not exceed the existing capacity of the panels. If the load is found to exceed the capacity of the panels (which is not expected), is an expanded electrical service to be included with this bid or will that be an extra cost to engineer and provide the expanded service capacity.
A: No. If the new outlets exceed capacity they are not to be installed. Contractor shall install up to max capacity.
11. Item 2.8.3 indicates both relocated outlets and new outlets, and states an estimated quantity of 52 outlets. Additionally, 2.8.4 calls for 3 new outlets and 2.8.6 calls for 10 new outlets. Shall it be assumed that we provide a total of 65 new/relocated outlets?
A. Contractor shall bid at the estimated outlet quantity of 52. Contractor shall verify amount in the field. Sections
2.8.4 and 2.8.6 are a further break down of the total count. They are a part of the 52 count. The existing outlets are to be relocate with the wall. Additional outlets will be located below the ceiling for wall mounted TVs and inside the custom furniture.
12. The solicitation does not state what amount the bid bond should be. 20% flat or 20% not to exceed a specific dollar amount. Can you please clarify what you are looking for?
A: bid bond shall cover 20% or $3 million dollars. Whichever is less.
