Questions and Answers:

Sanding Booth:

Question 1: Would it be ok to go in one direction single-skinned or double-skinned to keep continuity?

A: I’m not sure what we are keeping continuity with, but so long as the booth is capable of keeping in, and filtering all hazardous waste, and is OSHA compliant, there shouldn’t be an issue.

Question 2: Regarding the specification on powder-coating the booth, is a salt-spray coating needed?

A: No.

Question 3. Would any other volatile organic compound (paint or other surface coatings) be an acceptable substitute?

A: Provided that it would be warrantied and fall within OSHA regulations, other surface coatings should be fine.

Q: 2. PERFORMANCE SPECIFICATIONS SANDING BOOTH. Under C., there should be listed two DCM1200s. This is the most expensive part of the booth and based on the drawing there are two listed. The booth would not be capable of producing 100fpm using only one DCM.

Two DCM1200 - Dimensions: 80"W x 36"0 x 90"H - Collection Module Features: (8) Filter Cartridges, 1 0HP 3 Phase motor with aluminum airfoil wheel. Module filters 12,000 CFM with clean filters, 99% efficiency at .5 Microns. Self-cleaning cartridges using reverse pulse.

The most current standard for compressed air application is aluminum piping. It is cleaner and much more cost effective. That is what was installed in the existing 113th booth. Could that be used in replacement of copper?

A: Yes

Q: Listed under the Salient Characteristics is an acoustical liner. Should the Acoustical Liner to reduce decibels be included in the proposed price?

A: Yes Q: Are roll-up door acceptable for this requirement?

A: Yes
