TO ALL BIDDERS ADDENDUM NO. 2

Date: 05/07/20

Project: ADAL C-17 AGE Facility Building 14415

Project No.: FXSB172535

The following changes, additions, and/or clarifications shall be made to the specifications and drawings for the work of the above project.

This addendum forms a part of the contract documents and in case of a conflict between drawings, specifications, and this addendum, the addendum shall govern.

Bid Questions, received 4/29/20 via email from Gerald Romig

1. In the specifications section Division 8, does the architectural team intend to provide a specification for the coiling doors

AE Response:

Specification –Table of Contents Add: Specification “083323 OVERHEAD COILING DOORS”.

Specification -See attached Add: Specification “083323 OVERHEAD COILING DOORS”.

2. Drawing # CD-101 – Note @ utility clean-out states “Unable to open”. Has clean-out been able to be opened since date of Lounsbury survey (01/31/2019) and will this clean-out need to be relocated?

AE Response: The design team was not able to open during initial site visit. The survey was not tasked with ‘opening’ the clean out. No, this Cleanout is not intended to be relocated. The intent is for the new to be adjacent to the cleanout

3. Drawing #CS-101 – Symbol 3 referencing bollards, calls out “(TYP (6))”, Drawing A-110, Symbol 5.16 referencing bollards, calls out “TYP (20))”.

AE Response: CS-101 is showing the 6 exterior bollards. A-110 is showing exterior and interior bollards. There are 20 total bollards.

ADAL C-17 AGE ADDENDUM #2 Page 2 of 5

4. Drawing #A-110 – Note 7.14 Calls for “expansion joint and cover”, Symbol 7.14 at gridline 4 says “TYP”. Typical of how many?

AE Response: Expansion joint and cover are linear, and need to be provided where the new walls and roof structure meets the existing. Refer to elevations, sections and roof plan for all the locations.

5. Drawing #A-110 – Note 0.30 calls out “cut existing slab to connect new floor drains”, Demo and replace note on Drawing #S-110, note 7 references same. No cut dimensions are given. Are the cut dimensions to be determined by the contractor and will overcutting be allowed? Is the existing slab to be cut thickness and reinforcement known? Are there any conduit/piping/structural elements to be aware of in the area of the referenced cut?

AE Response: Contractor to determine the cut dimensions to accomplish the work. The existing slab to be demolished is 8” thick, reinforced with #4@12” each way (Contractor to verify in field). See new attached Slab Patch detail to be located at #16/S-500. The existing wall footings which are shown graphically on the drawings are about 4’-0” below ground, so they should not be encountered during demo. We do not know of any existing below grade “conduit/piping/structural elements”.

Drawing -S-110 – Keynote 7 Replace: “DEMO AND REPLACE CONCRETE SLABE FOR DRAIN INSTALLATION. REPLACE

WITH MIN. 6” THICK CONCRETE REINFORCED WITH #4@12: O.C. EA. WAY”.

With: “DEMO AND REPLACE CONCRETE SLAB FOR DRAIN INSTALLATION. REPLACE WITH

8” THICK CONCRETE PER DETAIL 16/S-500”.

Drawing – S-500 Add: Detail #16 Slab Patch.

6. Drawing #A-110 – Under Legend, removal of existing CMU walls and veneer is referenced. Does the location of the CMU walls and veneer removal coincide with the dimensions given on Drawing #A-110 Floor Plan specific to Door 100F?

AE Response: Yes.

7. Drawing #A-201 – Detail 2 – Roof Plan calls for a ½:12 slope from building grids 4 & 5 to an apparent low point valley running from building grid B.2 towards the roof drain at the southeast corner of the new roof. Drawing #S-110 Detail 2 indicates a single slope with an approximate 10” elevation change running from building grid 4 to building grid 5. Is the intent for the new finished roof drainage configuration to adhere to Detail 2 on Drawing #A-201.

ADAL C-17 AGE ADDENDUM #2 Page 3 of 5

AE Response: The intent is for the slope to follow the ½:12 single slope of the roof joists.

See attached revised roof plan for the ¼:12 cricket to slope to the roof drain.

Drawing -A-201– Roof Plan Replace: Roof Plan 2 / A-201 With: Attached revised Roof Plan 2/A-201.

8. Note – At the southeast corner of the existing building (near building gridlines 4 & D), there are two existing fire department connection points to the building fire suppression system. The lower of the two connection points appears to be in very close proximity to the new foundation connection/intersection point with the existing building. Does this connection point need to be relocate to avoid conflict with the new building addition construction?

AE Response: Relocate both the backflow test header and fire department connection east along the existing wall until the FDC is 3’-0” from the new wall. Maintain the same orientation. The test header is not required to be 3’-0” from the new wall. Fill and patch remaining holes to match colors and finishes. Provide shop drawings for the piping revisions required within the Riser room. Provide signage to differentiate between the two connections. Relocate the FDC strobe.”

9. Arch Drawings A201 & S110 indicate a finished structural slope from Grids 4-5 of ½:12 slope. This would result in an approx.. drop in elevation of 15:. Roof drain is located on gridline 5 at one side of the addition at approx.. gridline C.7 Roof Plan indicates finished slope for the roof should be ½:12 . In order for the tapered insulation cricket to counter slope the structural slope and provide a finished ½:12 slope it will need to 1:12 taper.

This will make the cricket height at Grid B.2/5 Line approx.. 26” deep and with the R30 insulation and Coverboard well over 30” dep. Exterior parapet framing appears to show a 24: tall wall at this location. We suggest relocating the roof drains to the center of the addition along grid 5, to shorten the depth of the required cricketing.

AE Response: Add 4 courses of CMU to the perimeter parapet wall on all 4 sides.T.O.

CMU = 23'-4". See question #7, regarding the roof slope change.

Drawing -A-201 – Roof Plan #2/A-201, Elevation-West #3/A-201, Elevation-South #4/A-201 and Elevation-West #5/A-201.

Replace: Sheet A-201 With: revised Sheet A-201

Drawing -A-300 – Building Section E/W #1/A-300, Building Section N/S #2/A-300, Wall Section #3/A-300

ADAL C-17 AGE ADDENDUM #2 Page 4 of 5

Replace: Sheet A-300 With: revised Sheet A-300

10. Sheet A201 indicates metal roofing at two canopies, but there is no metal roof specification to indicate what type and profile is desired.

AE Response:. See attached ‘Standing Seam Metal Roofing Panel’ specification.

Specification –Table of Contents Add: Specification “074113.16 STANDING SEAM METAL ROOFING PANELS”.

Specification -See attached Add: Specification “074113.16 STANDING SEAM METAL ROOFING PANELS”.

11. Sect 75419 PVC roofing. Does not call a vapor barrier or thermal barrier for the roof assembly. Vapor barriers are standard for this region typically, due to our average winter temps. Thermal barriers are typically required to meet Class A fire ratings. In addition, no PVC membrane manufacturer is called out, however, insulation manufacturers are. In order to meet total system warranty requirements, the membrane manufacturer will need to be the manufacturer of all their components, including insulation. Suggest adding membrane manufacturer callout, standard for this region is Carlisle, Sarnafil & JM.

Standard insulation types for this region are Expanded Polystyrene and Isocyanate (Poly Iso). Suggest adding both to the roof specifications.

AE Response: See revised attached PVC Roofing specification and revised Roof System Detail #1/A-600.

Remove: existing Specification “075419 POLYVINYL-CHLORIDE (PVC) ROOFING”.

Replace with attached: Specification “075419 POLYVINYL-CHLORIDE (PVC) ROOFING”.

Drawing – A-600 Detail 1 Replace: Detail #1/A-600 With Attached: Detail #1/A-600

12. 075419 2.1 1.11 Warranty indicates a ten-year manufacturer material and watertight warranty, with a 2yr workmanship warranty from the Installer. No wind uplift warranty is called out.

AE Response: See response to question #11..

13. 2.1 Performance Requirements indicated uplift pressures that the assembly will withstand.

ADAL C-17 AGE ADDENDUM #2 Page 5 of 5

AE Response:. See response to question #11.

14. 3.10 Roofer installer warranty Sect B indicates damage from peak wind uplift gusts of over 132 mph are excluded from the installers warranty. This indicates two things: 1-intent is for the installer to warrant the roof for wind uplifts to 131 mph 2- That there is a desire for a wind warranty on this project.

AE Response:. See response to question #11.

15. Wind/Uplift warranties come from the manufacturer, not installers, and no wind uplift warranty is asked for in the roof warranty section. Suggest removing this line.

AE Response:. See response to question #11.

16. Will the data that needs to be run, be required for contractor to terminate at both ends?

AE Response:. Yes.

17. Will bollards with bolt down plates be acceptable at interior coil up door locations in the existing building.

AE Response:. Yes.

18. Specification Section 323300 – 2.5 Steel and Galvanized – Steel Finishes. Are the bollards to be provided to have a powder finish or are painted bollards acceptable?

AE Response:. Provide powder-coat finish per specification.

19. Wil mil certs need to be provided for all steel?

AE Response:. Refer to the individual specifications for all the required Certificates.
