VIPER Fabrication Services IDIQ Contract

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Johnson Space Center (JSC) is seeking fabrication engineering, design and production services for structural and mechanical components and assemblies in support of the Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover (VIPER) mission.

VIPER is a lunar rover currently planned to be delivered to the surface of the Moon in November of 2023. VIPER will be tasked with prospecting for lunar resources in permanently shadowed areas of the lunar south pole regio-.

VIPER Fabrication Services is an indefinite delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for prototyping, manufacturing and fabrication services, including:

• Engineering services that support the definition, design and production of structural and mechanical components

• Manufacturing services that support the fabrication and assembly of structural and mechanical components. Typical capabilities that may be required include:

o 3D printing, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and injection molding o Production finishing, inspection and measurement

During the period of performance for the VIPER Fabrication Services contract, individual Task Orders will be released for quote. Individual Task Orders may request:

• Engineering and Manufacturing services for the fabrication and assembly of components or assemblies

• Repair or Modification of existing components or assemblies

Specific deliverables and timelines will be at the task order level.
