About this file
This is an Intent to Award Sole Source document issued by the South Carolina Department of Corrections for the procurement of Verensics, a pre-employment screening platform. The South Carolina Department of Corrections intends to sole source Verensics as a custom assessment tool specifically designed for the corrections industry to evaluate candidates' reliability, honesty, and integrity during the pre-employment screening process. The platform includes industry-specific risk category assessments tailored to corrections, including gang affiliation, abuse of authority/excessive use of force, and inappropriate relationships. Responses to this sole source intent must be submitted by June 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. to either the mailing or physical address listed for the SC Department of Corrections Purchasing Branch. The initial contract term is one year, from June 5, 2023, to June 4, 2024, with four automatically renewable one-year terms for a potential total of five years through June 4, 2028.
The document does not specify pricing terms, set-aside provisions, or funding amounts. Verensics is a cloud-based platform that provides immediate results and includes features such as algorithmic evaluation of cursor movement, response consistency and timing, dynamic questionnaires that adapt based on candidate performance, and the capability to customize assessments for specific organizational risks. The platform can identify admissions of criminal activity, tolerance of misconduct, attempts at deception, and other counterproductive behaviors that traditional background screening may fail to detect. Any vendor wishing to respond must provide complete documentation demonstrating authorization to perform all required aspects of the contract and must obtain a South Carolina vendor number prior to submission. Protests to this intended sole source award must be submitted within five business days of posting, with actual protests required within fifteen days.
