Troops to Teachers Q&A

1. Do we need to submit the lobbying form if we aren’t doing any lobbying?

A. Yes please submit form and it should have spaces for N/A

2. If we expect the same numbers on the budget to look the same as last year, is there any problem submitting the same or would you prefer to see adjustments?

A. Please submit a new budget separate from previous years

3. What is the Period of Performance for award?

A. May 15, 2018 – May 14, 2023 (5 years)

4. Is the 400k per year or over the 5 years?

A. The award amount will be each year for 5 years (subject to the availability of funds) i.e. if the award amount is 400k it will be per year for 5 years with a total award made of $2M.

5. Are states allowed to amend after the submission deadline date?

A. No changes after the deadline.

6. On pages 9 and 10 of the grant announcement, IV – A, it leads on to state there are “eight evaluation criteria” but there is no criteria listed. What are these criteria?

A. Update announcement with criteria in system.

7. On page 11, section E, the reporting structure is detailed. To whom are these reports submitted, and how (what method -- email, fax, etc)?

A. The reports will be submitted via email to the Grants Officer, Heather Hay, as well as the Program Office, DANTES (contact information will be given at time of award).

8. In the past, any money issued directly to a TTT participant came from the national office in the form of a stipend or bonus. Under this new grant structure, can state offices use their awarded operational money to issue participants money in the form of a state developed scholarships, reimbursement for certification fees, testing fees and/or mentoring fees etc.?

A. states will not be allowed to award operational money to issue participants money in the form of a state developed scholarship, reimbursement for certification fees, testing fees and/or mentoring fees etc...
