About this file

This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a Tank Assembly project requiring the contractor to provide enclosed ballistic tanks for an existing 40mm Single-Stage Light Gas Gun. The tanks must include target chambers with access ports, clear polycarbonate covers, feed-through ports, steel block-off plates, adapter flanges, and vacuum sealing capability. The contractor must also provide support rails, vacuum pump systems, control valves, and transducers for tank evacuation.

Key requirements include providing necessary PPE for contractor employees, obtaining TPOC design approval before fabrication, removing existing rail systems and installing new ones, delivering and installing the tanks, and demonstrating the system to NSWCDD. The work is unclassified and requires two personnel to travel to Dahlgren, VA for five days. The government will handle equipment offloading and provide point location. This SOW appears to be part of solicitation N0017825Q6668 for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, with Physics Applications, Inc. identified as the intended sole-source contractor due to their prior experience with the single-stage gas gun system.
