Statement of Work (SOW) Project: Preventative Maintenance/Service Plan
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: Hamilton Starlet Liquid Handling Robot (Serial # B203) needs a service contract.
2.0 Background: The USDA-ARS-SHRS is a facility that conducts genetic research of subtropical plants. Our laboratories have scientific equipment that need to be maintained and calibrated periodically. The Hamilton Starlet Robot needs to be maintained and calibrated as well as the tip system needs to be upgraded. This upgrade will give longevity to the tip system since the O-rings will not need to be replaced as often and make the tips more resistant to chemical damage and improve the tip alignment.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks: Due to a lapse in coverage, a Preventative Maintenance service will need to be performed at the beginning of the Service Agreement to ensure the unit is in good working condition. If any problems are found during the Preventative Maintenance, the repairs and replacements will not be covered under this Service Agreement. A Quote will be provided for any parts to be replaced. The contract would ideally start on 9/1/2023 since we have a back log of tips that need to be used before the tip system upgrade occurs. The old tips will not be able to be used once the upgrade happens. Preventative maintenance procedures may include replacement of wear and tear parts where applicable, cleaning, mechanical inspections, adjustments, and lubrication as required. System checkout includes following a comprehensive list of instrument checks to ensure the instrument is functioning to factory specifications. Travel and labor costs are included.
4.0 Government Furnished: The government will not supply anything to the company. The service will be performed on site during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. There will be no access to the building on weekends or federal holidays.
5.0 Deliverables / Schedule: The preventative maintenance will be performed at the start of the contract. A quote will be developed for any major repairs or parts replacement. Once, the robot has been evaluated, the tip upgrade for the system will occur. Before the end of the contract period another preventative maintenance will be performed.
6.0 Travel: not applicable
