Statement of Work (SOW) Holstein Calves for use in BRSV Research
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work
In the current study, we propose to examine the duration of immunity induced by mucosal BRSV F/G nano-vaccination and to identify the immune responses that correlate with long-term resistance to BRSV infection. Thus, in these experiments, we will study how long a new vaccine protects young calves from disease.
2.0 Background
This study has important implications for both human and animal health. Bovine RSV is a major cause of lower respiratory tract infection in calves. There are currently no RSV vaccines approved for use in humans. Although commercial bovine RSV vaccines are available, there is also a need for bovine RSV vaccines with greater efficacy.

The USDA retains the right to cancel the entire order if the vendor fails to provide the required number of animals that meet the required total number of animals.
