About this file
This statement of work outlines requirements for the purchase of a 3-channel, multiplex fluorescent imager. The selected vendor must deliver an imager capable of 3-channel fluorescence detection for multiplex western blot analysis, chemiluminescent detection surpassing X-ray film in sensitivity and dynamic range, and imaging standard ethidium bromide and protein gels. Additional requirements include a compact design under 13x17x22 inches, auto-exposure time calculation to avoid saturated bands, integrated touchscreen with no separate computer, UV safety override for gel excision, and a 9.1MP CCD camera with adjustable optical and lens settings. Delivery to 1815 N University in Peoria, Illinois within 120 days of a purchase order is required. The related federal contract opportunity was posted by the US Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service Field Research Implementation and Information Delivery Midwest Area under solicitation number 12505B23Q0293 for a 3-channel multiplex fluorescent imager.

Statement of Work
Project Purchase of 3-channel, mul-plex fluorescent imager
General Information
1.0 Scope of Work
Vendor is to deliver a new 3-channel, mul-plex fluorescent imager with the following features.
1) 3 channel fluorescence detecon for western blot analysis.
2) Chemiluminescent detecon that surpasses X-ray film detecon in sensivity and dynamic range.
3) Imaging for standard ethidium bromide and protein gels.
2.0 Background
Gel imaging systems and imagers are instruments used for photo documenng and analyzing gels and western blots. They are designed to address mulplex fluorescent western blong, chemiluminescence detecon, and general gel documentaon applicaons. Low-end gel imaging systems are only capable of imaging ethidium bromide-stained DNA gels, or total protein gels. Higher-end imaging systems offer more funconality and will allow mulplex-fluorescent imaging of proteins, chemiluminescent imaging with sensivity and dynamic range that surpasses X-ray film detecon.
Contractor Requirements
3.0 Technical Requirements / Tasks
1) 3 channel fluorescence detecon for mulplex western blot analysis.
2) Chemiluminescent detecon that surpasses X-ray film detecon in sensivity and dynamic range.
3) Imaging for standard ethidium bromide and protein gels.
4) Compact space saving design (L x W x H, no more than 13 x 17 x 22 inches).
5) Ability to detect when CCD saturaon occurs and calculate an auto-exposure me to avoid saturated bands.
6) Integrated touchscreen, no separate computer requirement.
7) UV Safety Override Switch to allow DNA band excision from a gel.
8) High-resoluon 9.1 MP CCD camera with fast lens opons, adjustable opcal and lens sengs, adjustable height tray with auto-detecon, and pre-calibrated focus.
