Statement of Work (SOW) Nikon AR1si Confocal Microscope
SERVICE
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: Contractor will provide OEM factory trained engineers to perform one (1) preventive maintenance on site service visit and unlimited emergency visits on the Nikon A1Rsi Confocal Microscope located at 1920 Dayton Ave. in Ames, IA.
Covered components will include:
1) Nikon A1Rsi Scanner – SN: 40035
2) Nikon LUN4 Laser Fixture – SN: 40346
3) Nikon LU Controller – SN: 455324
4) Nikon Detector Unit – SN: 59296
5) Nikon Spectral Detector – SN: 66514
6) Nikon NIS Elements Software Updates
7) All OEM replacement parts
8) All labor and travel expenses
9) Annual Preventative Maintenance
2.0 Background: This piece of equipment was purchased new in 2015. Preventive maintenance has been procured for this instrument since it was purchased in 2015.
This ensures continued & reliable operation in support of the NADC research mission.
Coverage: Base + 4 Option Years to be billed Quarterly in arrears.
The intent is to award a contract of a Base Year plus 4 Option Years.
Base Year – 01/11/23-01/10/24 Option Year 1 – 01/11/24-01/10/25 Option Year 2 – 01/11/25-01/10/26 Option Year 3 – 01/11/26-01/10/27 Option Year 4 – 01/11/27-01/10/28
Award will be made for a 1-year period with four optional 1-year annual renewal periods.
The decision to renew will be at the sole discretion of the USDA.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:
Service tasks include, but are not limited to:
1) Labor, travel and replacement parts are included in service
2) Unlimited service visits, Monday-Friday, excluding holidays
3) Unlimited telephone support for instrument, reagents and applications
4) On-Site repairs by certified original equipment manufacturer trained personnel
5) All repairs done with OEM parts
6) Maintenance done in accordance with OEM specifications.
7) 48 hour guaranteed response to a request for emergency service
Contractor will provide telephone support and unlimited emergency visits to the customer location.
Repair parts are to be included unless otherwise stated in this statement of work.
4.0 Government Furnished: Government-furnished support is limited to security access to the equipment in the NADC facility, replacement parts not otherwise covered under this agreement, AC power (110VAC) and standard office lighting.

Once annually coordinated through the Nikon Confocal Operator
6 Emergency Maintenance
Emergency repair of defective components to bring the unit back on-line.

9 Preventive Maintenance
Routine inspection, cleaning, alignment/calibration and repair of covered OEM components including OEM lasers.
OPTION YR 4:
Once annually coordinated through the Nikon Confocal Operator
10 Emergency Maintenance
Emergency repair of defective components to bring the unit back on-line.
OPTION YR 4: As necessary – coordinated through the Nikon Confocal Operator
6.0 Travel: One (1) preventive maintenance service visit will be provided by the contractor. All service visits will be coordinated with the Processor Operator at
NADC.
7.0 Contractor’s Key Personnel: Only OEM factory trained engineers are to perform any service procedure on the Nikon A1Rsi Confocal Microscope.
8.0 Security Requirements: A copy of an official government photo ID (State-issued driver’s license or ID card, passport, green card, etc.) must be provided no later than one week before arrival of contract service technician(s) except in the case of emergency service, were only the name of the technician provided via email or telephone will be necessary. Security access to the NADC facility will be provided based on this identification requirement.
