About this file

This document is a Justification for Single Source Awards for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically for the Network Contracting Office (NCO) 15 in Leavenworth, Kansas. The procurement is for Vocera Service workflow, implementation, and training services for the expansion of the 4East section of the Kansas City VA Medical Center. The total acquisition is over the micro-purchase threshold but not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) of $250,000.

The justification emphasizes Vocera's unique characteristics, noting it is the only VA FIPS 140-2 compliant mobile secure operating system for communication devices. The system is critical for VA medical centers because it improves care team communication through voice, secure messaging, and health alerting. Due to proprietary reasons, only authorized distributors and service providers can provide these services. The document is revision 01, with an effective date of 11/15/2024, and has been digitally signed by the Contracting Officer, Veronica Flores, with a future-dated signature of 2025.10.06.
