1. WRAP: MIL-P-17667, TY II, CL 1, SIZE: 12 X 12. APPLY A SINGLE WRAP. SECURE WITH TAPE.

2. IDENTIFICATION: IDENTIFY THE PACK AS SEGREGATED PACK NUMBER “1”.

3. INSPECTION: INSPECT THE SEGREGATED PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CRITERIA FOR METHOD I0.

F. PREPARE ONE GASKET, P/N C-184054, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STEPS BELOW.

1. BAG: MIL-DTL-117, TY III, CL B, ST 2, SIZE: 4 X 4. CLOSURE SHALL BE BY STAPLE, TAPE, OR HEAT SEAL.

2. IDENTIFICATION: IDENTIFY THE BAG AS SEGREGATED PACK NUMBER “2”.

G. PREPARE TWO BOLT/WASHER ASSYS AND TWO NUTS, TOGETHER, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STEPS

H. CONSOLIDATE THE ITEMS FROM NOTES E THROUGH G, AND ONE “CAUTION” TAG, P/N 120144, TOGETHER, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STEPS BELOW.

1. BAG: MIL-DTL-117, TY III, CL B, ST 2, SIZE: 15 X 7. CLOSURE SHALL BE BY HEAT SEALING.

2. CONTAINER: ASTM D5118, ST RSC, TY CF, CL WR, GR W5c, SIZE: 12 X 5 X 2-1/2. CONTAINER CLOSURE

SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE METHOD OF ASTM D1974.

3. IDENTIFICATION: IDENTIFY THE PACK AS ”SEGREGATED PACKS”.

4. INSPECTION: INSPECT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH CRITERIA FOR METHOD 31.

J. PREPARE ONE TURBOCHARGER, P/N 655595-3, AND CONSOLIDATE ITEM FROM NOTE H, TOGETHER, IN

ACCORDANCE WITH THE STEPS BELOW AND PAGES 3 AND 4.

1. ITEM PREPARATION: SECURE TURBOCHARGER CHAIN WITH TAPE ASTM D5486.

2. CAPS/PLUGS: NAS 847. SEAL ALL OPENINGS TO THE INTERIOR OF THE TURBOCHARGER WITH

CAPS/PLUGS OF THE APPROPRIATE SIZE.

3. PRESERVATIVE: MIL-PRF-3420, SIZE: 48 X 62. APPLY VCI WRAP BETWEEN THE MOUNTING BOARD, (ITEMS F AND G, PAGES 3 AND 4) AND THE TURBOCHARGER. USE THE MOUNTING BOARD AS A

TEMPLATE TO MAKE HOLES IN THE WRAP TO ALLOW THE BOLTS TO PASS THROUGH. AFTER THE

TURBOCHARGER IS SECURED TO THE MOUNTING BOARD, FOLD THE WRAP TO COMPLETELY

ENCLOSE THE TURBOCHARGER. SECURE WITH TAPE.

4. CUSHIONING: A-A-59135, CL 2, GR A, SIZE: 24 X 57 X 1/4. DRAPE CUSHIONING OVER TURBOCHARGER TO PREVENT PUNCTURING THE BARRIER MATERIAL WITH THE TURBOCHARGER. SECURE WITH TAPE.

5. BLOCKING/BRACING: SEE PAGES 3 AND 4.

6. ENVELOPE: MIL-E-6060. SEE PAGES 3 AND 4.

7. CONTAINER: PPP-B-621, CL 2, ST 7, SIZE: 17-1/2 X 17-1/2 X 20-1/2. CONTAINER IS CONSTRUCTED OF

ALL 1-INCH THICK NOMINAL LUMBER WITH 2-INCH THICK NOMINAL DECK BOARDS AND IS MODIFIED TO INCLUDE BEVELED SKIDS. SIZE AND APPLICATION OF SKIDS ARE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PPP-B-621.

8. INSPECTION: INSPECT THE UNIT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CRITERIA FOR METHOD 43.

K. IN ADDITION TO MIL-STD-129 MARKINGS, THE UNIT CONTAINER SHALL BE MARKED ON THE TOP AND

ONE SIDE WITH MINIMUM 1/2 INCH HIGH BLACK LETTERS "REUSABLE CONTAINER AND BLOCKING, DO

NOT DESTROY". IN ADDITION, THE TOP SHALL BE MARKED "REMOVE LAG SCREWS TO OPEN

CONTAINER" USING MINIMUM 1/2-INCH HIGH BLACK LETTERS.

L. PROVIDE A PACKING LIST WITH THE UNIT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-129. ON THE PACKING

LIST, IDENTIFY THE ITEMS WITHIN EACH SEGREGATED PACK TOGETHER WITH THEIR SEGREGATED

PACK NUMBER.
