About this file

This document is a Standard Packaging Instruction (SPI) that provides detailed requirements for wood packaging material (WPM) in international trade, specifically addressing phytosanitary measures to prevent invasive species like the pinewood nematode. The document mandates that all wooden lumber, pallets, and containers must be constructed from debarked wood and heat-treated to 56 degrees Centigrade (133 degrees Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes, with certification required by an accredited agency recognized by the American Lumber Standards Committee.

The related federal contract opportunity is a Department of the Air Force Materiel Command solicitation (FA825025Q0005) for repair services under the Mini Mutes Program. The solicitation is restricted to approved sources listed on an approved sources list, with interested vendors directed to review the attached Source Qualification and Surveillance Requirements (SQSR) document for potential approval as a service provider.
