We currently have a universal testing machine that needs to be replaced because it is approximately 20 years old nearing the End of (useful) Life (EOL) with circuit boards that are irreplaceable due to their age.
This has led to downtime with essential CRIS research. An updated UTM with software that is compatible with our past data on Bluehill software is essential for continuation of CRIS research. CRIS research revolves around using biochar as a substitute for carbon black filler in rubber composites. The universal testing machine is essential in providing mechanical properties of the composite samples we create and study to achieve our research goals. It is necessary that equipment is from the same manufacturer as current equipment.
