Specifications Project: Whole Slide Image/Scanner (Brightfield and Fluorescent)
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work:
Whole Slide Imager/Scanner will be utilized to scan microscope slides that have been stained/labeled for brightfield or fluorescence. These scanned images are utilized for software applications to be seen in publications and Powerpoint presentations.
2.0 Background: Whole Slide Imaging has been done here at NADC since 2011. The present system will no longer be supported as of June 2024. Having whole slide imaging with necessary magnification options for both brightfield and fluorescent work is essential to do image analysis for publications.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:
1. Whole Slide Imager/Scanner with 6 position nosepiece for objectives
2. Computer and monitor with color camera to run the whole slide imager
3. Automated Slide Loader System for up to 200 slides of various types including
1”x3”, and 2”x3” glass slides
4. Slide Trays to accommodate 180 1”x3” glass slides and 6 2”x3” glass slides
5. Objectives with flexibility to use dry or oil objectives:

12. Data and Image Management Software:
a. Software to run database (automatic bar code reading, automatic focus mapping, automatic scanning, automatic stitching, extended focus imaging, image format compatible with existing HALO software analysis including JPEG and TIFF, stepless zooming, screen capture, slide loader control), administrator and installation.
b. Software that can interface directly with existing Indica Lab HALO software for software analysis.
c. Software than can handle different scanners simultaneously.
d. Software that can import data from a previous slide scanner to have all data in one location.

4.0 Government Furnished: USDA will provide escort of installation and training staff while in USDA Laboratory facility.
5.0 Deliverables/Schedule: Delivered onsite within 90 days of date of award.
Installation and training shall be completed within 120 days of date of award.
